I was granted my Amateur Radio license on October 16, 1977 at the age of nineteen. My first rig was a Heathkit HW-101 that I received for Christmas that year. I still own and ocassionally operate the HW-101 and I can still remember that first contact when I was so excited I could hardly copy the CW. I enjoy operating digital modes like PSK31, Baudot RTTY and VHF Packet via the International Space Station. I have recently begun operating mobile HF SSB, mostly on 17 meters. On Wednesday mornings, I am a Net Control Station for the North Carolina Morning Net (NCMN) which meets at 7:45 AM local time on 3927 Khz. My station also operates as a full time APRS station reporting the data from my weather station.
